When you leave the house today: fear not. When you travel to the polling station: be not afraid. When you stand in line: don't give in to anxiety. When you're faced with the string of empty boxes: don't get scared. Make your judgements in wisdom and love of neighbour without giving way to terror.
Today, vote for someone else.

Nice finale.
I've been thinking that the media will spend the night discussing who won the election. And that it's a multiple choice question: Rudd or Howard.
Of course, the answer should be 'the Australian people', or even, if we were lucky, 'the poor', 'the alien' and 'the oppressed'.
Ah well. At least we can rest secure in the knowledge that, politics being what it is, whoever we elect will make our lives worse. Surely someone deserving must be benefiting from that...
well considering Rudd's latest stance on indig and refugee issues- i'm considering throwing in my passport.... regardless of who wins...
i'm tempted to believe the wise words of the mad man- Latham, and agree that it's an election about nothing... nothing that really matters...
Australia, go Green - and please get rid of Howard.
Actually from my side of the ditch the am the reporting on election results consists not just of Rudd versus Howard - but more importantly, Green party results and environmental issues. With MMP the Greens would have a voice and so would the people. Perhaps it is more about individuals making their own difference. Turn off the tap use less power take the bus or walk love your enemies give to others and treat others in the way you would like to be treated.

Geoff C - the someone else is your neighbour - i.e. don't vote for yourself or out of fear, but for your neighbour and the common good.

Sojo: Here's an ad that makes us the "voting for others" idea. If only that's used that as the tagline, rather than "Voting for us", which threatens to undo all the good messaging in the rest of the piece.
