Which is it to be?

"More than any other time in history, mankind faces a crossroads. One path leads to despair and utter hopelessness. The other, to total extinction. Let us pray we have the wisdom to choose correctly."

- Woody Allen.

It's obvious, then, right? The only sane choice is to turn around and go backwards!

Does this car have reverse? Because its turning circle is hopeless.

Just goes to show how terrible my memory is. I've only just realised that I posted this precise quote a little over a year earlier - and that Anthony graciously repeated his line in response!

Here's a longer version of the quote I've just come across:

"More than at any other time in history, mankind faces a crossroads. One path leads to despair and utter hopelessness. The other, to total extinction. Let us pray we have the wisdom to choose correctly.

"I speak, by the way, not with any sense of futility, but with a panicky conviction of the absolute meaninglessness of existence which could easily be misinterpreted as pessimism."
