The choice we face: Woody Allen

"More than any other time in history, mankind faces a crossroads. One path leads to despair and utter hopelessness. The other, to total extinction. Let us pray we have the wisdom to choose correctly." - Woody Allen.

For a moment there, I thought the choice was Woody Allen, or ...?

Then I read the post, and realised it was Woody or Woody.

I wonder if Woody would get the humour of observing that the only sane conclusion in his analogy is to turn around...and repent.

Here's the full quote:

"More than at any other time in history, mankind faces a crossroads. One path leads to despair and utter hopelessness. The other, to total extinction. Let us pray we have the wisdom to choose correctly.

"I speak, by the way, not with any sense of futility, but with a panicky conviction of the absolute meaninglessness of existence which could easily be misinterpreted as pessimism."
