Prepositions
I lately lost a preposition; You may have seen this before, but I enjoyed it. Anyone know who wrote it?
It hid, I thought, beneath my chair,
And angrily I cried, "Perdition!
Up from out of in under there."
Correctness is my vade mecum,
And straggling phrases I abhor,
And yet I wondered, "What should he come
Up from out of in under there for?"

Just received an email from a reader pointing out that this little poem is called 'The Naughty Preposition' by Morris Bishop. Thanks.
