Points update

I didn't think it was possible. Once Peter J from Barneys built his enormous lead on the points leaderboard, I thought that no one would bother chasing him. However, another old uni and MTC friend, Anthony, has scored all but five of his 120 points in the last three weeks to catapult into the lead. Now I'll need to offer more points to replace all those that Anthony has been claiming...
If you're new around here, I offer points for guessing various things (usually associated with the photos I post). There is a leaderboard and collection of links to unclaimed points over here. Everyone is welcome to join in.
UPDATE: Peter J has scored five points to draw even. I've also just released another 144 potential points in various places if you can find them. Now is your chance to catch them if you can grab some points before these two take them all.
UPDATE II: There has been a flurry of activity, and Peter J has dropped back into third behind Anthony and Michael Canaris (whom I had the delight of meeting in person for the first time at the State Election Forum).
UPDATE III: OK, new rule. One guess per post per person per day. I know this is slightly different from what I've just said in a couple of comments, but this will help keep me sane.

Although it is commendable to score so many points in 3 weeks, I think it should be placed in it's proper perspective as I accrued my 120 points within 1 week.

Yes, apart from those final five points you just earned today, the rest all came within a week. I was going to go back and look this up for comparison, but was too lazy. Once you'd made the claim, I felt the need to confirm or deny it.

Is there a 'points in a day' record on offer?!

I'm sure Byron can come up with a suitably world-escaping type name for the trophy.

Meanwhile, back to reality for me.

How many points were you on at the start of the day? I think you would comfortably have the record, as I don't think Pete ever got more than about 50 in a day, and Michael once got 45 on a single post (after I foolishly didn't realise how many correct answers there were).

I think today might also win the 'most comments in a day' (currently at 66 and counting. Oh, 67 now).

Not sure how many points I was on at the start of the day...but your post says 120 when you made it, and it was no doubt inspired by the 25 points you gave away to get me into the lead...so I deduce I was on 95, which sounds about right.

Yikes. 104 in a day. It was like a feeding frenzy out here on the blogging fields...

If I can sneak another couple of dozen, I can steal Pete's record too! Hmmmmm....

maybe you should make it go month by month. if all the points go back to zero at the start of each month people who have few points might be more encouraged to join in.
so if you finish a month on top you win that month - 12 months to a year = a yearly winner.
