Wright on Williams on Sharia

N. T. Wright has written a short piece for the Washington Post offering what seems to be quite a sensible take on the recent controversy.

Good article. The whole thing raises questions of the place of religion in the state and also of a multiplicity of religions in the state. I think also the approach of the different religions to the state and politics/political institutions also plays a part. Wright's comments highlight that this field of questions has been largely ignored in the Western world for some time and now needs to be addressed. In my mind it is the greatest political question of our time, but maybe that is more reflective of my mind.
