Priorities

"It's extraordinary to me that the United States can find $700 billion to save Wall Street and the entire G8 can't find $25 billion dollars to saved 25,000 children who die every day from preventable diseases."

- Bono

The full story is, of course, more complex. But sometimes such blunt juxtaposotion throws new light on our assumptions and priorities.

UPDATE: Here's three.
UPDATE #2: And the other side of the equation is no longer looking like a given either.

Your blog is great. Its interesting to hear an outsider's (non- american's) perspective on the issues of faith and politics. By the way, I have yet to meet a single individual who agrees with this buy out here in the US. In fact it sickens most people but our politicians, it seems, are the whores of big business.

Anyhow I am going to link you. Thanks

Peace be with you,

Brent - thanks for your link and kind words. There are no outsiders to global problems!
