Publishing congratulations

I'd like to publish my congratulations at some friends' entries into publishing.

First Matheson Russell's first book is now out in the UK (and will be in Oz in August). A great little intro to the thought of Edmund Husserl, the early 20thC German philosopher and father of phenomenology. Well done Matt, may there be many more to come!

And while Matheson has shown admirable self-restraint in avoiding the headlong blogrush, the same is not true of Paget and Annette. Thus publishing congrats to both. My money is on Paget never posting again...

Bryon -- I think that someone ought to edit the Wiki entry to include Matt's book.

I don't know how its done.

Pass on my congratulations to Matt -- or pass on my email: jmoff at hotmail dot com. It would be good to be in touch again.

That is great news. Not that I know Matheson all that well but, I am very happy for him, and both suprised and not suprised that he has had a book published so soon.

Thanks for the plug Byron. With friends like you, who needs marketing departments?

If the book is as brilliant/clear as the explanation of all things Husserlian you gave me in that King St cafe it'll be a ripper.

Congratulations Matheson.

Justin, I assume that Matheson now has your email address (and so do all my spamming friends - you know who you are...).

I almost forgot that Ben has also just had his new book on Milton published.

You have spamming friends?

hmm. I just purchased the complete works of Matheson Russell. And now I am at work on 'Matheson Russell - A Guide for the Perplexed'.

Coming to a store near you.

Cruelly, I suspect that you are correct. Bloggin is a strange discipline: it is both bold and brash, shouting thoughts to the ether; and, shy and retiring, requiring the hummingbirds of the web to promote interaction and cross-fertilisation. This dialectic is probably too sophisticated for me.

A sledgehammer and a hummingbird: beautiful!

There is no shame in being a one-post blogger - or at least, no solitude...

I heard the other day that 75,000 new blogs are created every day. I wonder how many last a week?

A copy of Matheson's book just landed on my desk - anybody want one, give me a call ;)
