What holds you back?
A double-headed question:
If you follow Jesus as the Christ, what one thing would have to be different for you to give that up?
If you do not follow Jesus as the Christ, what one thing would have to be different for you to take it up?

Me.
How?
I mean, following Christ is about who I am. For that to change something that completely changes my understanding of myself would have to happen. I can't imagine that something that does not concern who I am at a very fundamental level would make a difference on this issue.
What kind of answers were you looking for?
Honest ones.
So thanks for yours. I'm interested in the psychology of conversion, or perhaps more accurately, the psychology of conservation: what it is that holds people back from change. And certainly questions of identity and stable selfhood are key here. MPJ has been blogging on such things here.
